The trueness of Measurements:

  • Accuracy of measurement on Ferrous substrates related to QNix® reference standards: (1 μm + 2 % of the reading) to 2,0 mm; 3 % of the reading from 2,0 mm
  • Accuracy of measurement on Non- Ferrous substrates related to QNix® reference standards: (2 μm + 2 % of the reading) to 2,0 mm;  3 % of the reading from 2,0 mm. 

 

Measuring Ranges of available Probes

  

 

Switching Unit of Measurement: Mil to micron

 

To switch from Mils to microns or vice versa is easy. Open the battery compartment by turning the lock behind the QNix paint gauge anticlockwise, where you find a switch – up for mils, down for micron. If you are using the QNix paint gauge for the first time, switch to the desired unit of measurement and then insert the batteries, then lock the device. If you have been using the Qnix Paint gauge and need to switch to a different unit of measurement, follow the same procedure. Take out the batteries, switch to the desired unit, reinsert the batteries and turn on your device.  The current unit of measurement is displayed on the upper right side above the current reading. Remember that 001″ = one-thousandth of an inch or 1.0 mil (1 mil, thou) and 1 mil, thou= 25.4 µm.
