Waterproof Thermo / Hygrometers PWT-103

Description

The thermo / hygrometer PWT-103 is a meter designed for measurements of relative humidity, air temperature, surface temperature and determining the dew point. The meter enables making the decision weather by the actual surface temperature the dew point will be exceeded and water steam will condense on this surface, this informs weather painting the surface will be possible.

The humidity measurement is done with high accuracy capacity sensor HC-1000, and environment and surface temperature are measured with resistivity sensors Pt-1000.
The surface temperature probe is connected with the meter by means of a cable.
Ergonomic shaped waterproof housing is made of plastic (ABS).
The measurement result is displayed on LCD by it’s side following buttons are placed:
ON/OFF - switching the meter on and off;
- temporary result view of dew point value in oC.
oC - temporary result view of environment or surface temperature.

Is used for accurate relative air humidity and temperature measurements, additionally it enables determining of dew point and is equipped with surface temperature probe.

THE HUMIDITY MEASUREMENT

The meter is factory calibrated with high accuracy humidity generator certified by Main Measuring Office, it doesn’t require any additional action to start work. The user has no possibility of calibrating the meter. After switching the meter on with the ON/OFF button it is necessary to wait till stabilization of the result on the display and than read the result. The meter is designed for measurement of relative air humidity, it can’t be used for measurements in aggressive gases because it may cause damaging the sensor. In case of depositing dirt and dust on the sensor it is necessary to clean it with compressed air.
From time to time it is advised to send the meter to the manufacturer to check the accuracy of the readings.

THE TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT

Air temperature measurement

The meter enables air temperature measurements. To make the measurement it is necessary to press and hold the oC button. On the display the value of the temperature in C will be displayed. Blinking dot signalizes air temperature measurement. After releasing the button the value of the relative humidity will be displayed.

Surface temperature measurement

The cable of the sensor for surface measurement is connected with the head of the meter with Chinch connector.
Press and hold the oC button. On the display a result of the temperature in 0C will be displayed.
After touching the surface wait for the result stabilization (about 15 s.).
Depending on the difference between the air temperature and the surface temperature and it’s kind a quicker or slower heat exchange appears.
The error of temperature measurement connected with this phenomenon is automatically corrected by the meter.

DETERMINING THE DEW POINT

Basing on the air humidity and temperature the meter calculates automatically the dew point temperature.
To receive the result it is necessary to press and hold the button. Instead of air humidity result the dew point in oC will be displayed.
Comparing the dew point temperature with the surface temperature enables determining weather the steam will condense on the controlled surface.
